About Cheryl

I went to John Amico School of Hair Design as a vocational program during my junior and senior year of high school In Waukegan, IL. When I graduated high school in 1991 I also graduated with a Cosmetology License. I immediately went to a small Gurnee Mills Mall salon called 'Pro-Cuts' for 8 months. I went from there to a more upscale family owned salon called 'The Hair Depot' for 2 1/2 years in Vernon Hills, IL. With  my ongoing search for growth I left there to go to 'Heidis Salon' another up scale salon, but in a mall, also in Vernon Hills, IL. I spent 11 1/2 years at this location.

I started taking business courses a few years ago at our local college and immediately recognized my entrepreneurial calling and decided to research more options, yet I wasn't financially ready to open my own salon. I found a salon in Libertyville, IL where I could rent space and have my own business. I loved the atmosphere and the salon owner showed awesome personality upon first meeting. I knew it was a match. My work home is called 'The Hair Source Salon'.

I have continued my education throughout the years with companies such as Bumble and Bumble, Deva Concepts, Grahm Web, Joico, Rusk, Matrix, Goldwell, Schwarzkopf, Regis, American Crew, and many other independent educators. I've continued my attendance to the local trade shows and still enjoy the hair industry trade magazines. My drive for constant growth will never end and I'm looking forward to what the future of hair has to offer me!

I also have a former Heidis employee with me, Andrea.

Cheryl's Outlook

Sure money is important for life in general but I'd have to say what really keeps me going is the ability to spread happiness and appreciation through my work. I really get that good feeling when I get to see that instant gratification from the emotion on the clients face. Especially the criers, from being so happy with their specialty style.

Really, how many people can say they truly love their job to the fullest? I know I am blessed because I actually get paid to do my favorite hobby, my passion!
